Anne Marie Cammarato, Artistic Director (2004-2010)
Delaware Theatre Company

David has directed for me at Delaware Theatre Company on a range of plays of different styles. Specifically, he has mastered one-person dramas, intimate family dramas, and comedies (both large and small). Despite their differences in as plays, David’s directing has always been consistently strong and his personal aesthetic has become quite developed. I am always pleased by his interest in connecting the audience with the text, and his gentle directing hand.

He is reliable, smart, and thoroughly researched. He has experience as an actor, which I believe helps him connect with actors, and to work through text. As a member of our Department of Education, David developed a clear relationship with the audience at DTC and has a special talent for engaging them in his productions. His work is always well-prepared, and he is constantly curious and eager to learn. His ability to accept feedback from his collaborators pushes his work forward, and at the same time, he develops strong visions for his productions, which he is determined to see through to opening.

Thank you for your direction of our Christmas Carol. You've done a fine job and with no added drama.

Carmen Khan, Artistic/Executive Director
Philadelphia Shakespeare Theatre

David directed our Classical Acting Academy production of Henry IV, Part One in the summer of 2009.  He very successfully worked with early career, talented actors in our professional acting immersion program which consists of training, mentoring and performance in a professional environment. The production was very well received and two of the actors went on to play significant roles in our mainstage productions this year.

Bill Felty, Artistic Director

David Stradley is a talented director who is thoughtful, caring, and committed.  We would be honored to have him work for us again.

Stephen D. Blumenthal, Founder/Artistic Director
Act II Playhouse

A true professional in every way.

Kathy Anderson, Playwright

David Stradley directed my play, Front Row Seat, during an intensive five-week development workshop. As a playwright, the experience of working with him was exceptional. From the beginning, he handled the play with great insight and respect for my intentions. With the actors, who played an important role in the workshop process, he encouraged a wonderful atmosphere of close communication and exploration, in a relaxed and skillful manner. David is a true pleasure to work with, both as a human being and as a talented director.
